Introducing Woody Howard from Simpsonville Automotive: Empowering Lives Through the Brakes for Breasts Fundraising Initiative

With an 18-year history as owner and operator of Simpsonville Automotive, Woody’s commitment to his craft goes beyond repair work. He founded the business driven by a desire to transform the automotive repair industry, placing customer relationships at the forefront and emphasizing prevention over transactions. As Woody puts it, “Prioritizing maintenance leads to fewer repairs!”

Simpsonville Automotive’s dedication to customer service shines through their around-the-clock availability, even on holidays. Whether by phone, email, or text, they’re reachable 24/7. Their transparency on costs and requirements, provision of loaner cars, pickup and delivery services, free towing, nationwide warranty, pre-purchase inspections, financing, and complimentary air service all underscore their customer-first approach.

A lifelong resident of Simpsonville, Woody has built both his business and his family in the area, alongside his wife, Shawna, and their four children: Abigail, Chase, Alison, and Jaxx. Woody’s journey into automotive work began during high school, where he was inspired by his teacher, Russell Loring. He recalls, “I consider my early years at dealerships, supplemented by a second job, as my self-funded ‘college’ education.” By age 25, he achieved Master Certified Technician status, learning the trade at a bustling independent repair shop in Louisville before launching his own shop in his hometown of Simpsonville.

For the last five Octobers, Woody, Shawna, and their team have proudly united with hundreds of independent auto repair shops nationwide to contribute to their communities through the Brakes for Breasts program. This initiative supports breast cancer vaccine research at the Cleveland Clinic and has amassed over $1.6 million towards this noble cause. The concept is straightforward: customers who have their brakes serviced (pads/rotors or shoes/drums replacement) not only see 10% of their cost donated to Brakes for Breasts, but Woody also offers to paint the brake pads or shoes pink and provides them for FREE! As an extra incentive, clients who agree to the pink brake treatment are entered into a drawing for a chance to win Simpsonville Automotive’s exclusive lifetime maintenance package. This package covers lifetime oil service along with an array of other enticing benefits! Woody and his team are excited about driving change with “Brakes for Breasts” at Simpsonville Automotive during October, Breast Cancer Awareness Month!
